Karnataka To Get Shivamogga Airport And 2 New Railway Projects Today

 PM is launching Shivamogga Airport (₹450 Cr) plus 2 new Railway Projects (₹990 Cr) in Karnataka today. These projects will boost commerce, connectivity & tourism.

Today in Karnataka, PM Narendra Modi will open the Shivamogga Airport. The airport, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 450 crore, will provide better air connectivity for the residents of central Karnataka. 

Also, the functioning of the airport will support regional growth in a number of industries, including tourism, the emergence of the IT sector, and more. 

PM Modi stated on Twitter that “the airport in Shivamogga will improve business, connectivity, and enhance tourism.” 

“The Passenger Terminal Building of the Airport can accommodate 300 travelers per hour and will act as a gateway to Malnad region,” said Member of Parliament B Y Raghvendra.

Raghvendra emphasized the importance of the airport for the area once more, saying, 

“This Airport will accommodate the supply of not just the citizens of Shivamogga but also the complete Central Karnataka. 

It will give wings to the ambitions of the youth and will create lakhs of career opportunities for them. Industries especially IT, tourism, and dairy will immensely benefit. 

Due to the direction of PM Modi Ji and endeavors of our Double Engine government, this Airport is now a reality.”

The Indian Air Force successfully tested the landing strip at the Shivamogga airport by making a successful landing with a passenger jet.

The prime minister will also dedicate two new railroad projects at the same time. A new line would be constructed, according to IANS, on the Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur corridor. A new coach depot is the following, located in Kotegangagru Train Station.

The new railway line, which was constructed at a cost of ₹ 990 crore, will improve communication between the Malnad region and the Bengaluru-Mumbai mainline. 

The coaching depot is being constructed for more than Rs 100 crore in order to accommodate new trains from Shivamogga and lessen the pressure on existing such facilities in the area. 

The development of the Belagavi railway station will cost somewhere in the range of Rs 190 crore.
