Assam Aims Guinness Record With 11k Bihu Performers, Gets ₹14k Cr Projects
Assam, a state in northeast India, is aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance. Bihu is a popular traditional dance of Assam that is performed during the festival of the same name. The state government has set a target of getting 11,000 Bihu performers to participate in the event, which is scheduled to take place in the city of Guwahati. The organizers are hoping to break the previous record set in 2012 in the state of Gujarat, where 7,000 people performed the Garba dance.
