Indian Spider-Man’s Unique Style Rooted in KalariPayattu
The animated film “ Spider-Man : Across the Spider-Verse” has captivated audiences with its compelling storyline and breathtaking visuals. Recently, lead animator Nick Kondo revealed an intriguing detail about one of the characters, Pavitr Prabhakar, also known as Indian Spider-Man. In the film, the character’s distinct movements are inspired by the ancient Indian martial art form called Kalaripayattu, which originated in Kerala over 2,000 years ago. Kalaripayattu is renowned for its dynamic techniques, acrobatics, and weapon-based skills. The creative team behind the film aimed to give each Spider-Man character a unique motion and signature moves. For Pavitr Prabhakar, they drew inspiration from Kalaripayattu.
