 The great Indian scientist Sir CV Raman had discovered the Raman Effect, which is worldwide used for research & finding drugs hidden inside luggage at customs. National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February every year to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by CV Raman. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in 1930.
