  The UAE has successfully facilitated the exchange of 350 prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, reinforcing its role as a key mediator in the ongoing conflict. On Wednesday, both nations exchanged 175 Ukrainian and 175 Russian captives, marking another step toward humanitarian relief amid the war that has continued since February 2022. This latest effort brings the total number of prisoners exchanged through UAE mediation to 3,233. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised both Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation, highlighting their commitment to engaging in diplomatic efforts. This marks the 13th successful mediation led by Abu Dhabi since 2024, underscoring the UAE’s dedication to fostering peace in the region. The ministry reaffirmed Abu Dhabi’s commitment to supporting dialogue and trust-building between the two nations, expressing gratitude for the confidence placed in the UAE as a neutral and effective mediator.

  A US Congressman, Rich McCormick, has praised India’s growing international influence and Prime Minister  Narendra Modi ’s role in the global stage. McCormick highlighted India’s rapidly expanding economy, which gives it significant leverage globally, particularly in its ties with Russia. He urged careful diplomacy to ensure that everyone’s best interests are at hand and that leverage only applies if used correctly. McCormick cautioned against capitulating to veiled threats of nuclear escalation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, drawing a parallel with North Korea’s nuclear posturing. He emphasized that mutually assured destruction is an untenable path forward if Putin’s warnings prove more than bluster. India has maintained a neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war, refraining from outright condemning Moscow’s invasion.
