  During the   G20 Summit held in New Delhi , a dramatic incident involving the Chinese delegation unfolded, raising concerns among security agencies. The delegation arrived at the Taj Palace Hotel with an unusually large and suspicious bag believed to contain spyware. When security personnel requested a routine inspection, the Chinese diplomats refused, citing diplomatic immunity. This led to an escalated standoff as the bag’s contents were considered unusual for a diplomatic mission, prompting it to be sent to the Chinese embassy for further examination. Adding to the intrigue, one Chinese delegate had requested a private internet connection at the hotel, which was denied. The 12-hour standoff was eventually resolved with the intervention of the Chinese embassy, as the equipment was removed from the hotel. In September 2023, India is set to host the G20 Summit, a gathering of leaders from the world’s major economies. The event will be held at New Delhi’s newly inaugurated  Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan , part of an extensive effort to modernize the area and establish India as a global business hub. The Convention Centre, encompassing exhibition halls and an amphitheater, represents India’s largest Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination. In preparation for the summit, the city will be temporarily shut down from September 8 to 10, with special security measures implemented, including trained “Tourist Police” deployed across key locations.   India has unveiled the renovated India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) building, located in the   Pragati Maidan Complex , to host G20 leaders’ meetings. The complex, now ranked among the top 10 in the world, boasts a seating capacity of 7,000 people and an amphitheater with seating for 3,000 people.
