India Gears Up for G20 Summit: Prime Minister Modi Urges Cooperation

In September 2023, India is set to host the G20 Summit, a gathering of leaders from the world’s major economies. The event will be held at New Delhi’s newly inaugurated  Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan , part of an extensive effort to modernize the area and establish India as a global business hub. The Convention Centre, encompassing exhibition halls and an amphitheater, represents India’s largest Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination. In preparation for the summit, the city will be temporarily shut down from September 8 to 10, with special security measures implemented, including trained “Tourist Police” deployed across key locations. India's Pragati Maidan Complex Now Among World's Top 10 Meeting Venues

  India has unveiled the renovated India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) building, located in the   Pragati Maidan Complex , to host G20 leaders’ meetings. The complex, now ranked among the top 10 in the world, boasts a seating capacity of 7,000 people and an amphitheater with seating for 3,000 people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly built International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC), named ‘Bharat Mandapam,’ and announced that it will host the G20 Summit in September. India is offering e-conferencing visas to over 160 countries, facilitating international participation.
