Finnish Multimillionaire Slapped with Staggering €121,000 Fine for Speeding
Anders Wiklof, a multimillionaire in Finland, was recently fined a staggering amount of 121,000 Euros (approximately Rs 1 crore) for speeding. The 76-year-old was caught driving 30 km/h over the speed limit, which is considered a serious offense in the country. Unlike in many other nations, Finland calculates fines for traffic violations based on the severity of the offense and the offender’s income. This unique approach means that billionaires and multimillionaires can face fines in the multimillion-euro range for such violations. In Wiklof’s case, the fine amounted to half of his disposable income for a period of 14 days.
