Air India is set to enhance its global connectivity by introducing direct flights from Mumbai to Melbourne starting December 15. While Air India currently operates daily flights from Delhi to Melbourne and Sydney, the addition of the Mumbai-Melbourne route, with flights three times a week, will contribute nearly 40,000 additional seats annually, catering to the growing demand for travel to Victoria, Australia. Victoria, home to a significant Indian community, will benefit from increased accessibility, especially considering that approximately 40 percent of all Indians in Australia reside in this region.
