  In a significant recognition, Ahmedabad has been ranked as India’s safest city in the Crime & Safety Index Report 2025 . The report, compiled by an international data analytics platform, evaluated cities across multiple parameters including crime rates, public safety, and local law enforcement efficiency. The city scored high for its low incidence of violent crimes , better night-time safety , and strong community policing initiatives . Civic authorities have credited the achievement to improved surveillance, citizen awareness programs, and swift police response mechanisms. Ahmedabad's ranking reflects a growing trust among residents and tourists alike, strengthening its image as a progressive and secure urban center.

  India has emerged as the leading contender to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with Ahmedabad likely to be the chosen city. Officials involved in the bid process have confirmed that India’s proposal is gaining strong momentum, placing it ahead of other competitors. If finalized, this would mark a significant moment for Indian sports, offering a global platform to showcase infrastructure and organizational capability. Ahmedabad’s world-class sports facilities and improved urban connectivity make it a strong candidate. The final decision from the Commonwealth Games Federation is expected soon.

  Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched 10 new  Vande Bharat Express trains , enhancing rail travel speed and convenience for the common man. These semi-high-speed trains can run up to 180 mph, making them quicker than regular trains. The trains also offer improved amenities like seating and doorway spaces, making long-distance travel more comfortable. The launch of these trains showcases India’s ability to design and manufacture advanced rail technology through the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The Vande Bharat trains aim to drive a modal shift from air to rail for distances less than 700–800 km.
