Reviving the Legacy: Inauguration of the New Campus of Nalanda University
Historic echoes resounded in Rajgir, Bihar today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, inaugurated the new campus of Nalanda University. Established under the Nalanda University Act, 2010, this momentous occasion marks a significant leap towards reviving the ancient seat of learning. The journey of this revival commenced in 2007, with a decision at the second East Asia Summit in the Philippines. Fast forward to today, the new campus stands proudly near the ancient ruins, symbolizing a blend of tradition and modernity. The university, which began operations in 2014 with a modest number of students, now boasts six schools of studies.
