ISRO To Launch INSAT-3DS For Enhanced Weather Forecasting

Image
ISRO is set to launch the  INSAT-3DS  meteorological satellite aboard the GSLV F14 spacecraft from Sriharikota spaceport. The mission, funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, aims to improve meteorological observations for weather forecasting and disaster warning. The satellite will monitor the Earth’s surface, conduct oceanic observations, and analyze the environment for better weather predictions. It will also support data collection and data dissemination capabilities, as well as Satellite Aided Search and Rescue services. The mission will replace older satellites and provide advanced weather observations for land and ocean surfaces. The satellite will replace older satellites and will be launched through a GSLV-F14 rocket, marking an important milestone in ISRO’s space missions. Future missions include carrying the Earth observation satellite NISAR, developed jointly by NASA and  ISRO , which will provide valuable data for understanding global changes in ecos...

ISRO To Launch Indo-US Space Mission ‘NISAR’ In Early 2024

Image
The US Air Force has brought the ISRO-NASA satellite ‘NISAR’ to Bengaluru. ISRO will launch this Indo-US space mission in early 2024, for various purposes. The eagerly anticipated NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar, or NISAR, has arrived in India after being jointly developed by scientists from the US and India. At NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, the massive scientific payload was being integrated. The satellite, according to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), arrived in Bengaluru from the US on a USAF C-17.  The final stage of the mission, which entails its integration into the spacecraft bus, has been set in motion by its arrival.  Before the satellite is authorized for launch from Sriharikota’s Satish Dhawan Space Center in the first quarter of 2024, ISRO will now direct the mission’s final leg over the coming months. Two distinct radars make up the mega satellite. While American researchers created the long-range L-band radar, their India...

ISRO Launches 3 Small Satellites From Satish Dhawan Space Centre

Image
ISRO launched its second innovative rocket of its Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV), SSLV-D2 from Sriharikota on 10th February 2023 at 09:18 am IST. From the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) efficiently and effectively launched three miniature satellites using its SSLV-D2 launch vehicle.  The EOS-07, Janus-1, and AzaadiSAT-2 satellites were on board the launch vehicle, which was designed to place them into a 450 km circular orbit. Its Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV), SSLV-D2, conducted this second development mission on February 10, 2023, at 09:18 IST. SSLV offers “launch-on-demand” services for satellites weighing up to 500 kg into low Earth orbit.  According to an ISRO release, “It offers minimum launch infrastructure requirements, low turnaround times, flexibility in hosting several satellites, and cheap cost access to Space.” The EOS-07, Janus-1, and AzaadiSAT-2 satellites were to be launched into a 4...
