Inauguration of Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu: A New Pilgrimage Destination
The newly inaugurated Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu and Kashmir is set to become a significant pilgrimage site. Spanning across 62 acres of scenic Shivalik forests in Majeen, the temple was opened on June 8th by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Its construction cost approximately Rs 30 crore and it is expected to boost religious and pilgrimage tourism in the region. The temple follows the same systems and practices as the renowned Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh, ensuring consistency in worship. Strategically located on the route between Jammu and Katra, where the popular Mata Vaishno Devi temple is situated, the Tirupati Balaji Temple holds great significance. It is the sixth Balaji temple established outside Andhra Pradesh by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
