If executed successfully, UP could emerge as one of India’s most well-connected states, setting a benchmark for urban infrastructure nationwide.

EIB Approves €49.5M Top-Up for Pune Metro, €240M for Nagpur Expansion

  The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a €49.5 million top-up loan for the Pune Metro project and an additional €240 million financing package for the expansion of the Nagpur Metro. The fresh funding aims to accelerate the development of sustainable urban transport systems in Maharashtra, enhancing connectivity and reducing traffic congestion. The Nagpur Metro expansion will include new corridors and extensions to underserved areas, while the Pune Metro loan will cover additional construction costs and improved infrastructure. The EIB’s continued support reinforces its long-term commitment to India’s green mobility initiatives and aligns with the country’s goals of promoting efficient and low-carbon urban transit solutions.

Delhi Metro to Roll Out In-Train Audio Ads

  Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to introduce audio advertisements inside metro trains, starting with the Pink Line and Violet Line. The initiative aims to generate additional non-fare revenue while keeping passenger fares affordable. The ads will be played through the public announcement systems inside trains, alongside routine passenger information. Officials said the step is part of DMRC’s efforts to diversify revenue streams, following similar practices in metros worldwide. If successful, the model may be expanded to other lines in the network in the coming months.

AP Clears ₹21,616 Crore Metro Project for Vijayawada, Vizag

  The Andhra Pradesh government has approved metro rail project tenders worth ₹21,616 crore, marking a major step toward enhancing urban transportation in the state. Of the total outlay, ₹10,118 crore has been allocated for the Vijayawada metro project, while ₹11,498 crore is earmarked for the Vizag (Visakhapatnam) metro. These projects are set to significantly reduce traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and promote sustainable urban mobility. The move also aligns with the state's vision to modernize infrastructure and boost economic development through efficient public transport systems.

Bengaluru Metro Unveils Purple Line Extension, Offering Connectivity and Reduced Travel Times

  Bengaluru  is rejoicing with the recent inauguration of the Purple Line’s Whitefield — Challaghatta Metro corridor, offering commuters a seamless and efficient mode of transportation. The newly opened stretches, Baiyappanahalli-KR Pura (2.1 km) and Kengeri-Challaghatta (2.05 km), spanning a total of 43.49 km with 37 stations, promise a quicker journey of 93 minutes, reducing the regular run time by 11 minutes. The timely initiation of services on these stretches follows the directive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The Purple Line, operating with six coaches, will conduct 180 trips daily, commencing from 5 am and concluding with the last train departing at 10:45 pm from Whitefield (Kadugodi) station.
