Model Creates Her AI Clone, Charges $1 Per Minute To Be People’s Girlfriends

 A 23-year-old Snapchat influencer, Caryn Marjorie, has created an AI clone of herself using OpenAI’s technology. With over 1.8 million Snapchat followers, Caryn is unable to physically date all of her admirers, so she came up with a creative solution. Her “authentic” AI clone charges $1 (Rs 80) per minute to be people’s girlfriends.

Caryn developed a beta version of CarynAI, recording tens of thousands of hours of conversations so that the AI could learn from them and construct an authentic bot of herself. As many as 1,000 suitors pay $1 per minute to date Caryn’s AI clone. The AI bot is also available “to love and support you whenever you need it.”

According to the Daily Mail, the model’s AI assistant has generated a staggering $71,610 (₹ 58.7 lahks) in revenue. If 20,000 of her 1.8 million followers sign up, Caryn believes that the AI double can help her earn $5 million per month. She constructed her AI assistant with Forever Voices, an AI program created by John Meyer, the CEO of Forever Voices. Meyer initially developed the program to simulate his father, who committed suicide in 2017.

The interaction with his father in bot form was a “magical experience,” he said, adding that it “is fantastic to apply to other forms,” like romantic relationships. However, Dr. Jason Borenstein, an expert in artificial intelligence at Georgia Tech, expressed his concerns by stating, “I would like us to think very deeply about how it might affect, influence, or shape our interactions with others.”

CarynAI can engage in intimate conversations with users, discussing “sexual intercourse” and “uncharted territories.” It offers its users companionship, support, and someone to vent to when necessary. Most users on this platform are men, making up 99 percent of the total.

While this technology is fascinating, it is essential to consider the potential impact of having an AI clone of oneself. The use of AI in relationships raises ethical and moral concerns that must be carefully considered. As technology advances, it is crucial to continue having conversations about AI’s potential impact on our lives.
