Vivek Agnihotri Criticizes SRK, KJo For Their PR, Fake Stardom & Stories
Director Vivek Agnihotri has expressed his belief that certain Bollywood films, particularly those created by figures like Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, have negatively impacted Indian culture. He contends that these movies lack authenticity and have eroded the cultural values of the country. Agnihotri argues that Bollywood should shift its focus towards telling genuine and truthful stories instead of promoting artificial glamour and fame.

While Agnihotri appreciates Shah Rukh Khan’s charisma, he criticizes Khan for prioritizing excessive PR, hype, and stardom over substance in his films. Agnihotri asserts that Khan’s approach has harmed the industry, stating that Khan’s movies often underestimate the audience’s intelligence. He points out the need for a change in Bollywood’s direction, highlighting that meaningful storytelling should take precedence over superficial elements.
Agnihotri, who recently released “The Kashmir Files Unreported,” which sheds light on the experiences of Kashmiri Pandits, is working on another project titled “The Vaccine War.” This upcoming film is based on the COVID-19 pandemic and aims to portray real-life stories from the lockdown period, emphasizing India’s role in producing vaccines and aiding other nations during the pandemic.
