Mysore Museum's Prabhas Wax Statue Stirs Social Media Controversy

In a surprising turn of events, a wax statue of the renowned actor Prabhas, known for his iconic role in the blockbuster movie “Baahubali,” has become the center of a heated controversy. Displayed in a museum in Mysore, the statue has prompted Baahubali’s producer, Shobu Yarlagadda, to announce potential legal action against both the creators of the statue and the museum itself. Shobu alleges that permission was never sought nor granted from the makers of Baahubali for the creation of this wax likeness.

On September 24, Shobu took to Twitter, sharing an image of the controversial statue and stating, “No license has been taken for this statue. The statue was made without our permission. We had no information about it. We will try to remove it as soon as possible.” While Prabhas’ official fan page had initially shared an image of the statue, it has since divided social media users, with many expressing doubts about its resemblance to the actor. Some users even humorously noted that the statue bore a closer resemblance to other individuals, such as actor Ram Charan or Australian cricketer David Warner.

The wax statue controversy has ignited discussions about whether it was an inadvertent mistake by the Mysore museum or a deliberate attempt to create controversy. It’s a particularly sensitive issue given the global success of “Baahubali,” which transcended regional boundaries to become an international phenomenon. Any tampering or controversy surrounding the beloved film is unlikely to be accepted by its producers or its vast fanbase, raising questions about how such a significant mistake occurred in the first place, whether due to oversight or intention.
