Caller Threatens Mumbai-like Terror Attack, Uttar Pradesh Government Under Scrutiny

An unidentified caller speaking in Urdu has issued a warning of a potential terror attack similar to the 2008 Mumbai attacks if Pakistani woman Seema Haider does not return to her home country. The caller alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government would be held responsible for the attack. Mumbai Police have initiated an investigation into the threat, involving a crime branch team to identify the caller’s IP address

The incident relates to Seema Haider, a Pakistani national, who entered India illegally to marry her Indian partner, Sachin Meena. The couple came into contact through the online game PUBG and formed a relationship. After being detained for her unlawful presence in India, they were released on bail last week by a Greater Noida court in Uttar Pradesh. Sachin and Seema publicly expressed their love for each other, seeking permission for their union to continue in India through marriage.

Earlier this year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Mumbai office received a threatening letter claiming an impending terror attack in Mumbai by an individual posing as a member of the Taliban. The sender, who allegedly used a Pakistan-based IP address, warned of an attack in the city. While investigations are underway, previous similar emails sent to the agency in the past were determined to be hoaxes. The authorities are treating the current threat with caution and conducting a thorough investigation into its authenticity.
