Inauguration of Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu: A New Pilgrimage Destination

The newly inaugurated Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu and Kashmir is set to become a significant pilgrimage site. Spanning across 62 acres of scenic Shivalik forests in Majeen, the temple was opened on June 8th by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Its construction cost approximately Rs 30 crore and it is expected to boost religious and pilgrimage tourism in the region. The temple follows the same systems and practices as the renowned Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh, ensuring consistency in worship.

Strategically located on the route between Jammu and Katra, where the popular Mata Vaishno Devi temple is situated, the Tirupati Balaji Temple holds great significance. It is the sixth Balaji temple established outside Andhra Pradesh by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Devotees can visit the temple free of cost, providing an opportunity for all to seek the blessings of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will dedicate the temple to Sri Venkateswara Swamy, further promoting tourism in the region.

The inauguration of the Tirupati Balaji Temple marks a significant milestone for Jammu and Kashmir. It is the first temple of its kind in North India, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike. With its grand opening, the temple is expected to contribute to the growth of religious and pilgrimage tourism in the region. The event was celebrated with special prayers, and devotees are eager to visit and receive the blessings of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy at this sacred destination.
