Delhi Police Launches Investigation after Drone Spotted near Prime Minister’s Residence
A security alert was triggered when a drone was spotted hovering above Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi on July 3. The incident came to light when the Delhi Police received information from the Special Protection Group (SPG) in the early morning. The drone was reportedly flying in the no-fly zone designated over the Prime Minister’s residence, which is located at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi.
The Delhi Police conducted extensive searches in the vicinity but found no trace of the unidentified drone mentioned in the initial report. They also confirmed with the air traffic control room (ATC) that no such drone was detected near the Prime Minister’s residence. In light of the sensitive nature of the area involved, an investigation has been launched to determine if any security breach occurred and to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
While the authorities work to uncover the details and address the security concerns arising from the incident, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, on July 7. During this visit, he is expected to launch various development projects worth approximately 3,000 crores in the region, as per the Uttar Pradesh government’s preparations.
