Indian Icon Anupam Kher Set to Bring Rabindranath Tagore to Life in Latest Film
Actor Anupam Kher has delighted fans by announcing that he will be portraying the role of Rabindranath Tagore, the renowned poet and philosopher, in his 538th film. Sharing his first look on Instagram, Anupam resembled Tagore with a similar outfit, white hair, and a long beard. Fans expressed excitement for the film, although its title and release date have yet to be revealed. Anupam has other projects lined up, including “Metro In Dino” and “The Vaccine War.”

Rabindranath Tagore, known for writing the national anthems of India and Bangladesh, holds a significant place in Indian history as the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. Referred to as “the Bard of Bengal,” Tagore is considered one of the greatest literary figures in India. Anupam Kher’s portrayal of Tagore has garnered positive reactions, with fans appreciating his resemblance to the iconic poet.
Apart from the Tagore film, Anupam Kher is set to appear in various other projects. In Anurag Basu’s “Metro In Dino,” alongside a star-studded cast, the film is scheduled to release on March 29, 2024. Anupam will also feature in “Emergency,” a film directed by Kangana Ranaut that depicts the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Additionally, he will be part of Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Vaccine War,” which explores the situations arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
