Google's Bard AI Model Explores New Role: Your Virtual Life Coach

Google is reportedly enhancing its AI model, Bard, to provide virtual life coach services, offering users helpful life advice. The company is considering 21 different ways to integrate Bard, including utilizing it as an AI-powered life coach capable of responding emotionally to critical queries using artificial intelligence. However, challenges such as “AI hallucination,” where the chatbot generates inaccurate information, need to be addressed. Google aims to personalize the chatbot’s responses for individual users.

The development of an AI life coach aligns with Google’s strategy to remain competitive in the artificial intelligence sector. The tech giant merged its DeepMind research lab with its Brain AI team to leverage generative AI technology. While Bard is being integrated into various products, Google remains cautious about the ethical implications and risks associated with relying heavily on AI for life advice.

Apart from the AI life coach, Google is exploring other applications for generative AI, including software that generates, revises, and suggests news article headlines. Google acknowledges the potential concerns related to extensive dependence on generative AI, such as potential job displacement for creative writers and the broader economic impact of such technologies.
