Yashobhomi: Delhi To Get One Of The World’s Largest Convention Centers
Delhi is all set to unveil ‘Yashobhomi,’ Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), on September 17. The facility is touted to be one of the world’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities, covering a project area of over 8.9 lakh square meters with a built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters.

Key Features of Yashobhomi:
- Impressive Convention Center: Yashobhomi features a convention center spanning more than 73,000 square meters, offering 15 convention rooms, including a main auditorium, Grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms. It can accommodate up to 11,000 delegates and boasts the largest LED media facade in India.
- World-Class Auditorium: The main auditorium can seat around 6,000 guests and features automated seating systems for various configurations.
- Grand Ballroom: With the capacity to host around 2,500 guests, the Grand Ballroom also includes an extended open area for up to 500 people.
- Massive Exhibition Halls: Yashobhomi boasts one of the world’s largest exhibition halls, covering over 1.07 lakh square meters.
- Stunning Architecture: The facility incorporates Indian cultural elements into its design, including terrazzo floors with brass inlay and patterned walls.
- Sustainability: Yashobhomi is environmentally conscious, featuring a 100% wastewater treatment system, rainwater harvesting, and rooftop solar panels. It has received the Green Cities Platinum certification for its sustainable design.
- Connectivity: A new metro station, YashoBhoomi, in Dwarka Sector 25 will connect to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, reducing travel time to just 21 minutes from New Delhi.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that the International Exhibition-Cum-Convention Center ‘Bharat Mandapam’ in New Delhi recently hosted the G20 summit in September 2023, highlighting India’s capacity to host large international events and conferences.
