Say Goodbye to Third-Party Apps: Instagram Introduces Official Reel Download Feature

Instagram has rolled out a new feature globally, allowing users to download Reels posted by public accounts directly to their devices. Previously, downloading Reels often required third-party apps, raising concerns about legality and ethical use. Now, with this official feature, users can easily save Reels to their camera roll by tapping the Share button and selecting Download.

For those worried about the privacy of their own Reels on public accounts, Instagram offers a solution. Users can control the ability for others to download their Reels by toggling off the option in their Instagram Profile settings under Sharing and Remixes. Additionally, Instagram allows users to download their own Reels without a watermark, enabling the free sharing of original content.

With this update, sharing downloaded Reels on other social media platforms becomes more convenient. Once saved to the camera roll, users can directly share Reels as video files on platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram without the hassle of copying and pasting URLs.
