 In a final hurrah at the T20 World Cup, Pakistan clinched a three-wicket victory against Ireland on Sunday. Despite being eliminated from the tournament following losses to India and the USA, this win provided a much-needed morale boost for the team.



The match highlighted both resilience and recurring issues within the Pakistani squad. Once again, the batting order faltered, with the middle order collapsing under pressure. Fakhar Zaman (5), Usman Khan (2), Shadab Khan (0), and Imad Wasim (4) were all dismissed cheaply, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position.

However, captain Babar Azam remained a steady presence, scoring an unbeaten 32 runs. His composure at the crease was complemented by Abbas Afridi, whose 21-ball 17 runs helped stabilize the innings. Together, they forged a crucial 33-run partnership, steering Pakistan towards their target.

The match reached a thrilling climax with Shaheen Afridi delivering a match-winning finish. His quickfire 13 not out, including two powerful sixes, sealed the victory for Pakistan, who reached 111 for 7 in 18.5 overs.

While this win did not alter Pakistan's standing in the tournament, it showcased their fighting spirit and provided a positive conclusion to their World Cup journey. The points gained were inconsequential for both teams, but the triumph served as a testament to Pakistan's determination and capability to bounce back under challenging circumstances.
