From Galwan to Siachen: In A First, Army Rolls Out 4G, 5G Network Across Remote Ladakh Borders

In a groundbreaking move to boost connectivity in India's most remote and sensitive border areas, the Indian Army has successfully deployed 4G and 5G mobile networks across forward locations in Ladakh, including Galwan Valley and Siachen Glacier. This marks the first time high-speed internet has reached such extreme altitudes and strategic military zones.

The initiative, carried out in collaboration with state-run telecom providers and defense technology partners, is aimed at enhancing real-time communication, surveillance, and operational efficiency. The new network will also improve the quality of life for troops stationed in isolated outposts by allowing seamless video calls and data access.

This tech upgrade is seen as a major step towards modernizing border infrastructure and maintaining strategic preparedness in the face of evolving regional threats.
