India Sets Ambitious Target: 50 New Airport Projects in 5 Years

India has announced an ambitious plan to develop 50 new airport-related projects over the next five years, aiming to boost regional connectivity and strengthen its aviation infrastructure. The initiative, part of the government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, focuses on enhancing accessibility in smaller towns and under-served regions.

The plan includes greenfield airports, expansion of existing facilities, heliports, and water aerodromes. This large-scale development aligns with India’s growing air travel demand and its vision to become a global aviation hub.

By improving connectivity and logistics, these projects are expected to create jobs, support tourism, and stimulate local economies, marking a significant step forward in India's infrastructure growth journey.
