India’s First Hydrogen Train to Run Between Jind and Sonepat from July
India is set to launch its first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonepat in Haryana starting July 2025. This eco-friendly initiative marks a significant step toward green transportation and reducing carbon emissions in the Indian Railways network.
The train will operate on hydrogen fuel cells, producing only water as a byproduct, making it a cleaner alternative to traditional diesel engines. The project is part of the government’s broader push to adopt sustainable energy sources and modernize the railway system.
Once operational, the hydrogen train will not only contribute to environmental conservation but also enhance the travel experience with reduced noise and smoother operation. If successful, similar trains could be introduced across other routes in the country.
