Uttar Pradesh to Transform 57 Municipalities into Smart Cities with Rs 40,000 Crore Investment

 


Uttar Pradesh has announced an ambitious plan to upgrade 57 municipalities into smart cities with an investment of Rs 40,000 crore. The initiative aims to modernize urban infrastructure, improve public services, and boost economic development across the state.

Under the project, municipalities will see advancements such as smart traffic management, efficient waste disposal systems, enhanced public safety, and better digital connectivity. The investment will also focus on creating sustainable urban spaces with green initiatives and upgraded public transport networks.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the move will not only improve the quality of life for residents but also attract businesses and investors. The government plans to implement the transformation over the next few years in phases, ensuring a balanced focus on both large and smaller towns.

This large-scale project is seen as a significant step toward making Uttar Pradesh a model for urban innovation in India.
