Adani Vizhinjam Port, India’s First Container Transshipment Hub Inaugurated by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Adani Vizhinjam Port in Kerala, marking a significant milestone in India’s maritime infrastructure. Touted as the country's first deepwater container transshipment hub, the port is strategically located near international shipping lanes, aiming to reduce India's dependence on foreign ports like Colombo and Singapore for cargo handling.

Developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), the port boasts world-class infrastructure, including the capacity to handle Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs). It is expected to boost trade efficiency, generate employment, and place India on the global shipping map.

With its operationalization, the Vizhinjam Port is set to transform the logistics landscape and promote economic growth in the region.
