Amaravati as Sole Capital: Andhra Pradesh Passes Resolution

In a significant political move, the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has passed a resolution urging the Central government to amend the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, to declare Amaravati as the only capital of the state.

The resolution reaffirms the state’s commitment to Amaravati as its legislative, executive, and judicial capital. It seeks to put an end to previous proposals for multiple capitals, which had sparked widespread protests and legal battles.

The resolution calls on the Centre to formally recognize Amaravati in the Reorganisation Act, ensuring clarity and stability in the state's administrative structure.
