India to Soon Get 2nd Advanced Stealth Frigate Built in Russia

India is set to bolster its naval capabilities with the delivery of its second advanced stealth frigate, built in Russia under an intergovernmental agreement. The frigate is part of the Admiral Grigorovich-class, equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and weapons systems, including the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.

Constructed at the Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, the frigate is designed to enhance stealth and survivability in modern naval warfare. This vessel follows the first frigate delivered in 2023 and is a key component of India’s efforts to strengthen its maritime defense in the Indo-Pacific region.

Delivery is expected in mid-2024, marking another step in the deepening strategic partnership between India and Russia in defense cooperation.
