Cool India: Govt Plans to Regulate ACs at 20°C

In a move aimed at saving energy and promoting health, the Indian government is planning to set the minimum temperature for air conditioners at 20°C across homes, offices, and vehicles. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is working on guidelines to enforce this regulation, which is expected to reduce electricity consumption and lower carbon emissions.

Experts believe that running ACs at very low temperatures not only increases energy bills but also impacts human health. The initiative is part of India’s broader push for sustainable energy practices.
