GE Eyes Role in India's Stealth Fighter Program

US aerospace giant General Electric (GE) has shown strong interest in powering India’s next-generation stealth fighter jet. The proposed fifth-generation aircraft, being developed under India’s advanced fighter program, aims to bolster the country’s air combat capabilities with cutting-edge stealth and avionics technologies.

GE’s involvement could mark a significant step in US-India defense collaboration. The company is reportedly offering its advanced fighter jet engines, with potential for local manufacturing under technology transfer agreements. This aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in defense production through its “Make in India” initiative.
