India's First Animal Overpass Built on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

In a groundbreaking move for wildlife conservation, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has constructed the country’s first animal overpass corridor along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Designed to allow safe passage for wild animals, especially in forested and wildlife-sensitive zones, the overpass aims to minimize human-animal conflict and road accidents.

The eco-friendly structure mimics the natural habitat, enabling animals to cross highways without disruption. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to balance infrastructure development with environmental sustainability.

Experts hail it as a model for future highway projects across India.
