Shimla to Get World's Second Largest Ropeway: Tara Devi Project Announced
In a major infrastructure boost to Himachal Pradesh’s tourism and transport, the Tara Devi-Shimla Ropeway Project has been announced, set to become the world’s second largest ropeway.
The proposed project will span 14 kilometers, connecting Shimla to the revered Tara Devi Temple. With an estimated cost of Rs 1,734 crore, the ropeway aims to significantly ease traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and offer panoramic views of the hill station.
This ambitious development is expected to enhance tourism, generate employment, and establish Shimla as a global benchmark for eco-friendly, high-capacity urban mobility.
