India Plans 3 New Strategic Oil Reserves

The Indian government is planning to set up three additional strategic petroleum reserves in Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. This move aims to enhance the country’s energy security by increasing its emergency crude oil storage capacity.

These new facilities will supplement the existing reserves in Visakhapatnam, Mangaluru, and Padur. The proposed sites are strategically selected to ensure wider geographic distribution and quicker access during global supply disruptions or price volatility.
