The Andhra Pradesh government today rolled out a landmark initiative offering free bus travel for all women and transgender people across the state. The scheme, aimed at promoting gender equality and easing financial burdens, covers travel in state-run buses, including both rural and urban routes.

Officials expect the move to benefit millions, improving access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. The government has also assured that the transport department will be allocated additional funds to ensure smooth implementation without compromising service quality.
