Gujarat Boosts Tender Coconut Production with Expanded Cultivation

Gujarat has emerged as a significant contributor to India’s tender coconut production, generating more than 260.9 million units annually. Over the past decade, the state has expanded its cultivation area by 5,746 hectares, showcasing a strong push towards horticultural growth.

The steady rise in cultivation not only meets increasing domestic demand but also strengthens opportunities for value-added products such as coconut water, oil, and coir-based goods. With sustained efforts, Gujarat is positioning itself as a leading state in the coconut economy, supporting farmers and boosting rural livelihoods.
