Taj Mahal tops ASI list with 69 lakh visitors in 2024–25

The Taj Mahal has once again reaffirmed its status as India’s most visited ticketed monument under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). In the financial year 2024–25, the iconic 17th-century Mughal mausoleum in Agra attracted around 69 lakh visitors, far surpassing other heritage sites across the country. The monument’s enduring global appeal, coupled with improved tourism infrastructure, continues to draw both domestic and international tourists in record numbers. This milestone underscores the Taj Mahal’s place not only as a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also as a cornerstone of India’s tourism economy.
