EIB Approves €49.5M Top-Up for Pune Metro, €240M for Nagpur Expansion

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a €49.5 million top-up loan for the Pune Metro project and an additional €240 million financing package for the expansion of the Nagpur Metro.

The fresh funding aims to accelerate the development of sustainable urban transport systems in Maharashtra, enhancing connectivity and reducing traffic congestion. The Nagpur Metro expansion will include new corridors and extensions to underserved areas, while the Pune Metro loan will cover additional construction costs and improved infrastructure.

The EIB’s continued support reinforces its long-term commitment to India’s green mobility initiatives and aligns with the country’s goals of promoting efficient and low-carbon urban transit solutions.
