Greater Tirupati: City Limits Set for Massive Expansion

The Tirupati Municipal Council has approved a major proposal to expand the city's jurisdiction from 30.17 sq km to 283.80 sq km, marking a significant step toward the creation of “Greater Tirupati.”

The expansion aims to accommodate the region’s rapid urban growth, improve infrastructure planning, and integrate nearby villages under a unified administration. Once implemented, the move is expected to boost investment, streamline civic services, and support Tirupati’s vision of becoming a modern pilgrimage and smart city hub.
