UPI Transactions Surge in October, Averaging ₹94,000 Crore Daily

India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) witnessed a major surge in October, recording an average daily transaction value of around ₹94,000 crore. The increase highlights the growing dominance of digital payments in the country’s economy, driven by festive season spending, e-commerce sales, and strong adoption across urban and rural areas.

Industry experts attribute the rise to expanding merchant acceptance, the integration of credit lines on UPI, and the convenience of instant, cashless transactions. With UPI now crossing billions of transactions each month, it continues to solidify its position as the backbone of India’s digital payment ecosystem.
