UP's Metro Vision 2047: A Bold Leap in Urban Transport

Uttar Pradesh has unveiled an ambitious plan to build a 1,575 km metro network across the state by 2047, marking a transformative step toward modern urban mobility. This long-term vision aims to connect major cities, ease congestion, reduce pollution, and boost economic growth. With existing metros in cities like Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, and Agra, the state now plans to expand this network massively to improve accessibility for millions. The initiative is expected to create jobs, enhance real estate value, and make public transport more efficient and safer. If executed successfully, UP could emerge as one of India’s most well-connected states, setting a benchmark for urban infrastructure nationwide.
