Australia Opens Doors to Indian Exports

Australia will remove all tariffs on Indian goods starting January 1 under the India–Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA). The move marks a major boost for bilateral trade, giving Indian exporters duty-free access to the Australian market across sectors such as textiles, leather, jewellery, engineering goods and pharmaceuticals.

The tariff elimination is expected to enhance India’s export competitiveness, lower costs for Australian consumers, and deepen economic ties between the two countries. With ECTA in full effect, trade volumes are set to rise, reinforcing the growing strategic and economic partnership between India and Australia.
