Haier Plans ₹3,500 Cr Manufacturing Expansion in India

Global home appliances major Haier is planning a significant expansion in India with a proposed investment of ₹3,500 crore to set up a new manufacturing unit. The company is evaluating locations in western or southern India, regions known for strong industrial ecosystems and logistics connectivity.

The new facility is expected to strengthen Haier’s local manufacturing capabilities, support the Make in India initiative, and reduce dependence on imports. It will also help the brand cater more efficiently to the fast-growing Indian consumer appliances market.

Once operational, the plant is likely to generate substantial employment and boost ancillary industries, further reinforcing India’s position as a key manufacturing hub for global electronics and appliance companies.
