Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Nears Halfway Mark

India’s first high-speed rail project—the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train—has reached a major milestone, achieving 55% physical progress so far. With an investment of nearly ₹83,000 crore already spent, the project is steadily moving ahead to transform India’s transportation landscape. Once completed, the bullet train is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to just about 2 hours, compared to 6–7 hours by road or rail today. This mega infrastructure project signals a new era of modern, high-speed connectivity and reflects India’s growing ambition in advanced rail technology.
