Patna to Launch Bihar's First Water Metro by 2026

Bihar is set to make a major leap in urban transport with Patna’s first-ever Water Metro likely to begin operations by January 2026. The project aims to provide a modern, eco-friendly, and efficient mode of public transport along the Ganga river, easing pressure on the city’s congested roads.

Designed to boost connectivity between key riverfront locations, the Water Metro is expected to improve daily commuting while also promoting tourism. Once operational, it will place Patna among a select group of Indian cities adopting sustainable water-based urban mobility solutions.
