UAE Strengthens Family Safety with Hassantuk Fire Warning Initiative

Community Protection Becomes a National Priority

The UAE continues to demonstrate that social welfare is not limited to financial assistance but extends to creating safer living environments for every family. Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), together with the Ministry of Community Empowerment and the Ministry of Interior, will continue maintenance services for the Hassantuk fire early warning systems across the country.

Backed by an AED10 million allocation, the initiative will support more than 25,000 families receiving social assistance. By covering installation maintenance, safety equipment, and annual subscription fees, the programme removes financial barriers while strengthening household fire protection.

Investing in Prevention Instead of Response

This initiative reflects a proactive approach to public safety. Rather than focusing solely on emergency response after incidents occur, the UAE is investing in prevention through reliable fire detection and early warning technology.

Maintaining Hassantuk systems ensures that vulnerable families continue to receive uninterrupted protection without an additional financial burden. Such preventive investments reduce property damage, improve emergency response times, and most importantly, help save lives. The programme highlights how technology and social welfare can work together to build stronger, more resilient communities.

Supporting the Year of the Family 2026 Vision

The programme aligns closely with the objectives of the Year of the Family 2026, reinforcing family stability, wellbeing, and community resilience. Safe homes form the foundation of strong families, making fire safety an essential component of social development.

In my opinion, this initiative showcases the UAE's long-term governance philosophy—combining humanitarian support, smart technology, and public safety into one integrated strategy. By ensuring that vulnerable families receive continuous protection at no cost, the country is investing not only in infrastructure but also in trust, security, and quality of life. The Hassantuk initiative demonstrates that sustainable development begins with protecting people where they matter most: at home.
